Sarah Terry Speaks at DCAT
MedTRACK is predicting mixed news for the healthcare industry in the wake of the March 23rd historic signing of the healthcare bill. These findings were presented by Sarah Terry, President of Life Science Analytics, in the PharmaChem Outlook 2010 report at the Drug, Chemical, and Associated Technologies (DCAT) meeting in New York City.
In the pharmaceutical industry, both branded and generic pharmaceuticals will experience volume growth as well as some hardships. Generics will face downward price pressures and later entry into the market. Reform measures will force branded pharmaceuticals to endure greater cost-containment pressures along with drug discounts. Pharma companies will also be bound by limitations on marketing practices.
Like last year's presentation, this year's report discusses the key trends shaping the future of our market space including:
Macro trends shaping the industry
Market drivers and growth areas
Strategies for future success
Who is positioned for success

Molecule Type Filter
A Molecule Type Filter in the Screener tool allows users to search active ingredients/products by molecule type (i.e. small molecule or large molecule). The molecule type will be included within the results column header for viewing the results.
Single vs. Combination Product Filter
A Single vs. Combination Product Filter has been created to refine product searches, based on single or multiple active ingredients. Saving the client time, it will help users look at specific results and easily determine single vs. combination products.
Worldwide Patent Project
Our Worldwide Patent Project is also continuing to move ahead and MedTRACK now contains patent information for phase III products, including biologics. A total of 8,805 patents have been added under this effort.
